What we hold, and for how long.

What we never collect

There is no account, so there is no email address, password, username or profile. We ask for no identity documents and run no identity checks. We do not build a profile of you, and there is nothing to sell because none of it exists.

We never take custody of your funds. Assets move from your wallet to a settlement network and on to the wallet you name. They do not pass through an account we control, so there is no balance of yours for us to hold, freeze or lose.

What we do hold — and this is the honest part

To carry out a swap and let you check on it, we record the details of that swap. For as long as the record exists it contains:

• the assets and amounts you swapped
• the deposit address generated for you
• the destination address you gave us
• a refund address, if you supplied one
• the transaction hashes of both legs, once they exist
• the order's status and its timestamps

Your name is not attached to any of this. But blockchain addresses are pseudonymous, not anonymous — anyone holding this record could see that one address sent funds and another received them. That is a real linkage, and pretending otherwise would be the kind of claim this page exists to avoid.

So we delete it. Settled swaps are removed 7 days after they finish; unfinished ones after 30 days, which is longer only because an order that stalls may still need chasing. Deletion is permanent and runs automatically — it isn't a request you have to make.

Once a record is gone, your swap link stops working. Save any transaction hash you may want later.

Your browser

We set no advertising or analytics cookies, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Your browser stores one random identifier locally so that a swap you start survives a page reload. It carries no personal information and never leaves your device except to group your own orders with the settlement provider.

Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period to keep the service running and defend against abuse. If that matters to you, a VPN or Tor is the right answer — it always is, and no privacy policy substitutes for it.

Requests for data

If we are compelled to hand something over, we can only produce what exists at that moment. Beyond the retention windows above, that is nothing — not as a matter of policy, but because the records have been deleted.

Include your order reference if you have one. We can't look up a swap without it — there is no account to search, and once a record passes the retention window above it is gone for us as well as for anyone else.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use ForgeSwap after a change means the new version applies.
